Matariki

                                            Matariki

When the Matariki stars appear it is the beginning of the Maori new year.

We celebrate Matariki  like we celebrate your birthday.

Like sisters the stars shine bright like the flaming  sun.

Matariki is a time for joy like playing games and having fun.

It is a time to learn like being a good student and being taught by Mr. Sok

It is a time to plant crops like Potatoes, Kumala, and Tomatoes.

It is a time to hunt fish and hunt pigs

It is a time to make things like kites and flax bags.

It is a time to forgive and forget

Matariki reminds me of Christmas because you can give others gifts and things

Integrity

Integrity is doing the right thing when know one is looking. For example if you see rubbish on the floor show integrity and pick it up even tho its not yours.

Show integrity at home and at school

Integrity at home is doing the dishes even if your mum dos'int ask you to.

Learning about Flip

Today Flip people came into our class and taught us a few things. Before they taught us some things we played a little game with the tutors. We played 2 truths and 1 lie. We learned about our needs and our wants.

Cooking Koko Alaisa

Today room 6 were in the office and we boild  with miss Fa'alili.
We baked Samoan Coco alaisa. The ingredients were koko Vai, Suka Alisa, and Pe'e pe'e.
Well it was boiling we could already smell it. It smelled so yum that a lot of us were excited.
When it was done boiling we had to line up and wait your turn to get your koko alaisa.
When I got mine I sniffed it and wanted to eat it but we had to walk back to class because the bell rang.
